BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK confirms its international character: the show registers a new increase in foreign exhibitors and visitors
The seventeenth edition of the BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK-NOVIAESPAÑA show, which was held at the Gran Via Site of Fira Barcelona from June 1st to 3rd, closed its doors last Sunday with a balance that placed it as the most important worldwide encounter for Wedding Fashion. The increase in the number of visitors, which exceeded 12,000, together with the high quality offer presented by almost 200 brands, have made it the international reference point and an event not to be missed by the specialist trade, designers and the most select firms in the sector.
Foreign visitors made up 57% of the professionals (with an increase of 9% on the 2006 edition), which shows the international scope of the event. Italy (25.5%) continues in the lead of the ranking of countries, followed by France (10.5%), the United Kingdom (9.9%), Germany and Denmark (5.9% respectively) and Portugal (5.11%), among other European countries. Russia (3.5%) and Japan (3.8%) continue to have a notable presence highlighting the attraction of the show for these markets. With regard to the exhibitors, foreign participation was 30.5% and the countries represented were France, Portugal, Germany, the UK, Holland, Italy, Korea, India, Lebanon, Switzerland, Mexico and Turkey.
The change of location was another of the event’s novelties and enabled the surface area of the show to be increased from 21,460 m2 to 30,000 m2. The new location at the Gran Via Site of Fira Barcelona was the ideal setting for the new concept of the Show; modern and adapted to the needs of a sector in which Spain occupies second place as an exporting country worldwide.
The commercial aspects of the show were complemented by the glamour and the prestige of the PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS, which was held from May 29th to June 1st in the same place. A unique event, thanks to which 12,957 professionals were able to get to know the proposals of 35 designers in a privileged setting of renowned prestige. Mass media from all over the world and international top names of worldwide prestige attended the event that consolidated its condition as a world shop window for wedding fashion.
For the second year running, the Village BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK was held, in which companies linked to the glamour and exclusive nature of wedding fashion presented their products before the thousands of visitors, who included numerous personalities from the social and cultural world. BLANCAFORT, HOLA, LA VANGUARDIA, LE CHEF, OSIM, PURE, SENSILIS and VIÑA ESMERALDA were some of the companies that participated in this initiative, which was held from May 29th to June 1st in the Gran Via Site of Fira Barcelona.
BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK closed its seventeenth edition with an excellent balance of participation and media repercussion and consolidated itself as a privileged shop window in which, one year more, commercial and creative aspects came together to convert Barcelona into the international centre for the best Wedding Fashion.
