Resounding participation success
The last edition of PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS, which took place between May 27 and 30, heralded a milestone in its trajectory in terms of the number and quality of its participants. The modern and cutting-edge pavilion 8 of the Gran Via venue of Fira Barcelona, the work of the Japanese artist Toyo Ito, brought together a total of 42 national and international companies of worldwide prestige, projecting, once again, the image of Barcelona as an international capital of bridal fashion.
Some of the new sign-ups for this event included CHRISTIAN LACROIX MARIÉE who, through ROSA CLARA, showcased his new bridal collection. And it was precisely the ROSA CLARA company which, on Tuesday May 27, opened this brilliant edition of PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS, which closed its eighteenth edition on Saturday May 31 with collections by PRONOVIAS, MANUEL MOTA, VALENTINO and ELIE SAAB in shows for clients only.
Other novelty in this edition was the new HAUTE COUTURE PLATFORM, a newly created group comprised of select Catalan firms engaged in festive wear, such as ANGELITA MORILLO, EVA MARTÍNEZ, FRANS BAVIERA, JOAQUIN PEREZ VALETTE, MARTI FELEZ, PIEDAD RODRÍGUEZ and TERESA RIPOLL. They chose the prestige and high media impact of PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS for their collective social and media debut.
For men, mention should be made of the presence of MIQUEL SUAY, DUYOS and DEVOTA & LOMBA who, together with other companies who are already veterans at the show, such as FUENTECAPALA, ANTONIO MIRO or JAVIER ARNAIZ, showcased their particular and creative vision of bridegroom fashion.
The novelties concluded with some new names engaged in festive and ceremonial fashion, such as the firm from the Canary Islands, M & M or the Catalan GRACIA GALINDO.
One of the major events in the last Barcelona Bridal Week was the inauguration of the "Wedding Exhibition jointly hosted by CRYSTALLIZED? and PRONOVIAS”, fruit of the collaboration between the Swarosvki company and PRONOVIAS which travelled the main capitals of the fashion world. In the same act, which was staged in the dome of the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) the Collection MANUEL MOTA Made with CRYSTALLIZED? - Swarovski Elements was premiered.
PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS included, besides the names already mentioned, other relevant figures of the bridal fashion scenario, such as ANA TORRES, CABOTINE by Gema Nicolás, DE LA CIERVA Y NICOLAS, ESTHER RODRIGUEZ, FRANC SARABIA, FRANCIS MONTESINOS, HANNIBAL LAGUNA, JESUS DEL POZO, JESUS PEIRO, JOAQUIM VERDU, MATILDE CANO, MODEL NOVIAS, NOVIA D’ART, PATRICIA AVENDAÑO, PEPE BOTELLA, RAIMON BUNDO, RUBEN PERLOTTI, SIONA GARCIA, VICTORIO & LUCCHINO, WHITE DAY by José Mª Peiró and YOLAN CRIS. A huge array of designers that comprised, as always, a comprehensive programme that featured the best national and international tops and was visited by numerous clients and the press from over the world.
PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS was followed by the Salón Internacional NOVIAESPAÑA which, from May 30 to June 1, and also in Pavilion 8, afforded its thousands of professional visitors the chance to view the collections of more than 200 brands over a surface area of 30,000 m2. The event was the icing on the cake to this intense bridal fashion week, which is consolidating its position as a must-visit meeting for the sector and a nerve centre of the most international bridal fashion.
