BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK closes its 21st edition by showing off its international dimension with a 4% increase in exhibiting brands and 15,000 visiting shoppers, 60% of them foreign
Two hundred and forty top-level worldwide companies supported the bridal fashion platform par excellence, at which the presence of major firms increased by 4%.
This commercial and creative event closed brilliantly this year with the presence of 15,000 professional visitors at the NOVIAESPAÑA International Show and 14,000 people at the acclaimed PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS shows
Sunday, May 15, 2011.- The twenty-first edition of the BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK which, from Tuesday May 10 to Sunday 15, made the city of Barcelona the world bridal fashion capital, brought the curtain down brilliantly with a balance that confirms it as the convention par excellence in its speciality. Around 15,000 professional shoppers, with a percentage of foreigners of close on 60%, consolidate the international dimension of this privileged event.
The sector's leading national and international brands demonstrated their commitment to the BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK yet again, making it the only platform that continues to draw the most outstanding proposals in terms of quality, design and creativity which also demonstrate, at the same time, the potential of the Spanish bridal industry in the world, with companies that have driven and led major and solid expansion commitments for at least five years.
Yet again, the Barcelona event demonstrated its pulling power despite the current market situation, thanks to the loyalty of the aforementioned exhibitors (240, 4% more than in 2010), visitors and professionals of the specialised media from all over the world (more than 500), ever-faithful to their appointment with the BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK and its two main creative and commercial events: the PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS and the NOVIAESPAÑA International Show.
NOVIAESPAÑA 2011 even increased its exhibition area, thus certifying the full occupation of the 30,000 m2 of Pavilion 8 of the Gran Vía premises of Fira Barcelona. Once again, foreign participation, with a percentage of 40%, was outstanding. Firms from the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, France, Cyprus, Lebanon, Poland, Holland, Germany, Belgium or South Korea endorse the internationalisation effort made by the Show over the last few years, combined with the presence of the best national manufacturers in fashion for brides, grooms, ceremony and accessories.
Once again, the Fair featured the active presence of relevant buying centres and retailers from all over the world, within the framework of the international promotion programmes implemented over the last 21 years. Visitors from abroad currently account for 60% of the total number of professionals. Italy led the ranking of visiting countries, followed by Russia, France, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Poland, Belgium, Brazil, Switzerland, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Turkey, Ukraine, Austria, Lithuania, Rumania, Lebanon, Serbia, Slovenia, Malta, Australia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Mexico, Albania, Saudi Arabia, Columbia, Cuba, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Taiwan, Angola, Argentina, Canada, Ecuador, Egypt, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Latvia, Luxembourg, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
14,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE ACCLAIMED AND SPECTACULAR PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS SHOWS
Parallel to the Show's commercial activity, BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK provided the setting for the PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS, with four stimulating days of shows by 27 big names in bridal creation who showcased their new and suggestive trends with impactful scenographies.
Leading firms such as PRONOVIAS or ROSA CLARÁ showcased their acclaimed collections, together with the proposals of JESUS DEL POZO, JESUS PEIRÓ, VICTORIO & LUCCHINO, YOLAN CRIS, INMACULADA GARCÍA, FRANS BAVIERA, PIEDAD RODRÍGUEZ, TERESA RIPOLL, ELISABETH BARBOZA by PRONUPTIA PARIS, RAIMON BUNDÓ, FRANC SARABIA, FRANCIS MONTESINOS, MANU ALVAREZ, JORDI DALMAU, MATILDE CANO, LEE SEUNG JIN, NOVIA D?ART, PATRICIA AVENDAÑO, CABOTINE by Gema Nicolás, CYMBELINE, FUENTECAPALA, RAFFAELLO, SONIA PEÑA, ANA TORRES and CARLA RUIZ.
